On a different alignment from the question as stated: you might be interested in testing git-annex. Its "archivist" use case covers both detection of corruptions and repair from other copies. Yes, you can ask it to semi-automatically copy data between storage areas to ensure enough copies are available. Default setup is a little "invasive" as all files are replaced with symlinks to dedicated read-only directories to prevent unintended writes (can be disabled). Primarily a Linux tool, it looks like it is available as app bundle and homebrew.

comment Program measuring sound and generating an equalizer profile
I finally had it run. It measures frequency response by sequentially playing a range of frequencies. As a consequence, each full-spectrum measurement is very slow (about a minute) and any noise coming at any time will alter the result of the particular frequency that happened to be tested at that time. So, not of much interest as a starting point.

Interesting. Once activated, the script loads jQuery from Google and js-cookie from Cloudflare. Is there an impact in terms of (1) performance (2) privacy (think HTTP referer)?

comment Program to automatically read Terms and Conditions
I want a program that lives my life instead of me. ;-) More seriously, I agree with your need for privacy, but don't expect a reliable program to do that. In the future, though, more and more content will be created to be machine-readable, at that time your need will be fulfilled.

comment Reducing background music
I'm pretty sure that the.echonest.com has the technology for this. I remember seeing a demo where they took a scene from a film that had sound, voice and background music, then showed the original and a version where background music was completely removed, keeping sound and voice intact, then another with another background music replacing the original. It was very impressive. Perhaps look around echonest.github.io/remix and echonest.github.io/remix/examples.html

comment Need software-based dynamic range compressor
Hello. What's your use case? Is that a matter of listening comfort? (I'm not using Windows but Linux, had I had the need I would have looked at some LADSPA plugin that does dynamic range compression.)
