I am working with a legacy system that is producing emails that contain log messages. We can't easily change that source system, so I'm looking for ways to get those emails relayed into events in a log aggregator or better into a format that any log aggregator can ingest. For instance, dumping the emails into the local syslog or windows event log would be great.

I'm not afraid of integrating a bit of code, so open source libraries/projects that do this sort of thing would be interesting too.

  • procmail? Or using aliases of postfix (or similar) to pipe the mails into a program written by you. Under Linux/Unix you have various options.
