I want to manipulate video files with Java. To do this, I need to acquire the video metadata like frame dimension (widthXheight), frame rate, codec, etc. and act upon those information.

I know it can be done with the Java Media Framework, but Oracle dropped support for it. I am seeking a (free) alternative.

Anyone has a suggestion?
