After working with .Net Core with Entity Framework Core for about a month, finding out that there is no way to filter on children (or children of children, etc) is a real drawback and I might need to sort of scrap my effort and move to another database framework.

I was curious what recommendations and technologies are out there now. I have been looking into just using Entity Framework with .Net, but is this technology outdated? Would it be better to move to something like Django or Spring?

Also since I never really found out 100% for sure, EF Core does not let you filter on collections of children, correct? I want to be able to filter but only return some of the collection of children objects.
