There is a question asking about Wikipedia offline explorer recommendations.

I am only interested in browsing the history of a single Wikipedia article.

The online web interface for history browsing is slow and cumbersome to use.

Is there a way to download all the revisions of an article into a Git repository, for example, so that I can run git blame? What software do the professionals use?
