I have a short script in Python that I would like to have ping a webpage every 30 minutes or so. The script then sends me an email if a particular node of page's HTML response has changed (essentially checking to see whether an event has been posted, weekly). I would like to run this script on a remote server so I don't have to worry about internet connectivity on my local machine. Been looking at some sort of AWS instance, but I haven't found anything to my liking. It's more involved than a simple cron job, but also small and infrequent enough that I wouldn't need a heavy-duty EC2 instance or anything.

Is there something simple that I could use for this job? Would rather not mess with custom VMs if possible, it's really not a very complicated script.

Thanks for your help!
