I am looking for a C++ library to plot mathematical functions of 2 (or 1) variables that are defined in C++.

I tried Octave first, but I found it too buggy, and it isn't easily accessible from C++.

Generally it makes me uncomfortable that I need to use some special language to define functions, like Matlab or Mathematica.

Is there a C/C++ library that can pop up a window and show a function of 2 variables in 3D, with the ability to interactively rotate and zoom it?

I looked at MathGL, but I don't think that it is interactive.
