I have an application that runs out in the field and needs a reliable low latency connection to a server in a datacentre. I want to accomplish this by giving the machine running in the field multiple gateways (different 4G cellular providers and local network where available) and I need a way to bond the different uplinks in a tunnel to the server to maximise the available bandwidth as well as minimise interruptions in performance.

Before I go and write the code to implement this myself I would like to know if there is already a piece of software that addresses this problem, a kind of VPN that allows the use of multiple network connections simultaneously to reach the VPN server, or at the very least the ability to fall back to a spare connection without interrupting the TCP/IP connections running across the tunnel.
