I've looked quite extensively on Stack-exchange and the Internet, but many of the libraries I look don't quite fit the bill.

Is there a C++ library that can be built/linked as in-proc so that a linked client can call into API methods I define and also provide these methods over a network to another client? I have seen in-proc/over-network libraries that allow generic messaging, but I would like to be able to define the APIs.

Any help is appreciated.

  • At this point I would be willing to "fit" the API I need within the marshaling rules of the interface. But having it able to be built as a process library (Windows and Linux) and also act as a remote service is immutable. – tombo1002 Aug 19 '19 at 22:54
