Like mentioned I'm looking for a parser (and lex) for a c like language. However, there are some restrictions:

  1. I would prefer if the code or the development environment will be handled in c or c++. Generating a c or c++ file. Preferably both in c
  2. The program need's to be free. It might become a part of a bigger project in the future.
  3. It need's to be maintained and up to date. I'm looking for a tool that is relatively new.

I have been working with flex and bishon on Ubunto / minGW. They are obviously working very well. But I can't help wonder if there's a better tool for parsing languages out there, since they are both over 20 years old.

I have been reading and checking up about lexers and parsers. But i'm afraid they are all at least 10 years old. Antlr is a very powerful tool I have been checking up on, but adding java to a project that is heavily written in 2 other languages might create problems of it's own.

Looking for a recommendation for something relatively new or maintained, Can also work if it's open sourced and I can have access to the code itself.

If you also know the pros and cons of each program will help a lot.
