I'm fairly new to networking and I'm looking for a really good example of professional quality networking done in Java. All the examples I can find (such as the ones by Oracle) are good introductory tutorials, but I want to see a socket/client/server that might actually be deployed in a real application somewhere.

Alternatively, are there any third party Java libraries that provide net classes with more features than the Oracle ones?

  • I think my question pretty clearly asks for a recommendation of particular software that either a) implements java networking structures with more features than Oracle's socket classes or b) is a good example of high quality netcode – Snail Cadet May 8 '19 at 14:09
  • This might be something to read into: grpc.io/docs/tutorials/basic/java – Thomas May 9 '19 at 10:50
