For the last few days I was trying to obtain SDK for Nikon COOLPIX B500 digital camera. The point is that Nikon does not provide any ability to connect to the device. On their official site it is said that there is not any SDK for Coolpix cameras at all. Writing to the support service did not help too:

Email response

But nevertheless there are many traces of the SDK in Google. One of them is there. It shows that Coolpix SDK still exists somewhere on our planet.

So, any ideas where I could find it?

Actually, legality issues do not make sense 'cause i'm gonna use it only for educational purposes.

First of all i'd love to have the ability to create and transfer images from camera to my pc. The better option would be to catch the liveview stream from is. One more good opportunity would be to get access to camera properties so that i could control and change camera state. Guess that's enough for my needs :)

  • SDK has many meaning. What do you want to achieve exactly? – Nicolas Raoul Feb 11 at 15:17

  • Please edit your question to add all of this, thanks! – Nicolas Raoul Feb 11 at 15:24
  • Sorry for not being precise. Edited – Smooth Feb 11 at 16:11
  • "transfer images from camera to my pc" does not need a SDK I guess, it is a normal protocol such as "mass storage" which is probably implemented by the camera already, right? – Nicolas Raoul Feb 12 at 1:24
