I'd like to write a static analyzer for Python. Instead of writing a linter from scratch I'd either like to (option a) use a static analysis library or (option b) extend an existing linter with custom check rules. The choices I found so far are jedi (option a) and pylint (option b) via pylint. Has anyone hints w.r.t. what to prefer?

  • @davehalter You propably know best: How do capabilities of jedi and pylint differ? – thinwybk Dec 26 '18 at 15:41
