Need suggestion on code review tools which would allow file by file and line by line comment irrespective when the code was committed.

Gitlab, gerrit, Phabricator allowsthe comments only on commits and merge request. For a company where most of the code was committed without any code review, it is very tedious to use these tools. It also does not allow any comment on older code accepted as a good code.

  • On what OS must the tool run? What's your budget if it comes to paid solutions? Any workflow it should allow for (i.e. what should happen after you added your comments)? – Izzy Dec 21 '18 at 7:12
  • Server side and ubuntu based is preferred. I should be able to check the list of all comments on code(across commits and branches) and if they have been closed. – User12345 Dec 21 '18 at 9:54
  • Never heard of an OS called "server side". A new one? :D So I guess you mean "web app" (running in your browsers) and self-hosted? May I suggest you edit your question and add those details? Thanks! – Izzy Dec 21 '18 at 18:12
