I am creating a small software using PHP and I want it to connect to a local installation of MYSQL The requirement is: Local mysql database will be updated by php, local database should synchronize automatically with a remote mysql database (hosted with some external web hosting company like godaddy)

  1. Which version of MYSQL i need to download for this scenario?

  2. GPL licensing will be sufficient because I will not embed MYSQL into my application, so it will be a free download, am I right?

  • Welcome aboard :-) What do you mean by "synchronize"? Backup, or any change to one gets made to both? – Mawg Dec 20 '18 at 13:44

i have a local database. I want that I will have a Sync button, clicking on which data from local database is synchronized to a remote database. – Neetu Dec 21 '18 at 9:22
  • So, not just copied (backup), but data will be read and then written into another (presumably not identical) database? – Mawg Dec 21 '18 at 9:24
