We have several different jobs running at different intervals serving an array of different purposes.

Currently we have no effective way to monitor these jobs, see their status history, etc. We have logfiles and send emails out but these are not the most effective form of communicating statuses.

Is there something that would allow us to create a dashboard of sorts to track this?

I know about solutions such as sentry, but those are mainly for error tracking. I would like to allow users to see errors in addition to successful runs.

  • When you say different jobs, are these scripts? Is there any programmatic way to differiante between a successful and unsuccessful "job"? – Sonamor Aug 31 '18 at 16:47
  • Jobs as in software apps running, or a factory building products? I assume software, but this Question is not clear. Be more specific about operating system, and the kinds of software involved. Are you talking about the manual data-entry of status, or automatically collected/reported by running systems? Do you mean current at-the-moment status (such as with SNMP), or past results as well? – Basil Bourque Aug 31 '18 at 20:15
  • Well, the obvious answer is jenkins.io, but you don't like emails - so, what do you want? The more information that you can give us, the better that we can help you. Welcome aboard :-) – Mawg Sep 3 '18 at 8:42
