I am trying to create a data summary automated report for any table to see if the table have enough data for predictive modelling purposes and return PDF report.

For example, I want to take a table and return:

1) data shape 2) Data types for each columns 3) Columns with null values 4) How much data are we missing from each column? 5) Descriptive stats for numerical variables 6) Frequency table for each categorical variables

Does anyone know if there is a good Python package out there that takes a DataFrame and can write it to PDF?

I was writing my own function and found stumbling block with the PDF format (text is too small, DF dont fit in the PDF as its cut off halfway, etc).

Let me know if you have any good suggestions.

  • Have you tried Report Lab? reportlab.com/opensource – Eric Shain Apr 12 '18 at 14:03

  • I've used it a bit and it is pretty powerful. Takes a bit of learning but should do what you want. – Eric Shain Apr 12 '18 at 23:31
