I have a Micro:Bit that's connected to my Android phone over Bluetooth. This Smartphone will receive each 250ms a message from Micro:Bit with accelerometer information that has to be stored on a database using REST.

All this database information stored, is also needed to be displayed and modified on a webpage.

What web framework and database have the best performance?

I've been thinking about:

I already know Python, but I've seen here that they are really poor on performance.

For database, it has to be SQL so I've considered PostgreSQL as the primary option.

  • Of those three languages, both PHP and Python are pretty slow. If anything, those benchmarks you linked to show that PHP is generally even slower than Python. But obviously a lot of people still use them, so they might be Fast Enough. You won't know until you try. But for sure JavaScript is the fastest of the three. – John Y Mar 8 '18 at 23:52

Another route is Vaadin with Java. Get the speed of fast execution combined with sophisticated threading in a JVM. Plus security. – Basil Bourque Mar 9 '18 at 5:33

Please note that this site doesn't feature requests for product comparisions: SR is about suggesting specific software for specific needs you define. For details, see: Is tool x versus tool y a fair question? So please edit your post, list your requirements and ask for software meeting those, see What is required for a question to contain "enough information"? – Izzy Mar 9 '18 at 9:45
