this is linked to this topic. =) I can only afford free firewalls. I have double boot inside, but that was not me, was from outside, a hacker company that plays with fear and psychological barriers, he did that to my Windows because he could somehow knew that I was out of home for one hour, and it's the same that aims job seekers, small business, normal people data, and big mail companies... so they do everything wrong that exists. I need the firewall to protect specific folder delete from the internet world (not from inside to inside, from outside to inside). Happened to me, have a good day =)

  • Those things almost never happen from outside, not even from LAN, but from a program running right in your computer. You don't need a firewall, you need an antivirus probably (and even those are quite ineffective). Hackers won't bother (and really can't) change files at will in random computers. – Alejandro Feb 28 '18 at 20:35
  • I'm not using the fast startup in Windows so I can login from Ubuntu side, that's why I thought the hacker could also login from outside. But if you think a virus did it, hope I'll find a website that will help me catch it =) I am using 3 antivirus, often scan but they didn't find a thing (or found too late...). – Waterreedshimmer Dracchingan Mar 2 '18 at 18:08
  • The reason I think it's a hacker it's because I replied to the spam phishing, no a lot, but a little small bit, and it watches my private life too. And that thing while I was out I had this many many years ago in phone, did receive lots of fake porn ads and the hacker did knew where I was. – Waterreedshimmer Dracchingan Mar 2 '18 at 18:10
  • I don't recommend to use a third party firewall if you don't know anything about network. Using a firewall will make things worse. If you konw what you're doing ZoneAlarm and Cisco are the best imo. – onurcano Mar 9 '18 at 18:57
