I am of the view that I can have better handle on the tasks when specific time is set aside on my Calendar for each task.

The Calendar Apps themselves don't provide the functionality to tracking Tasks, for example, calendar events don't support status. When the task/event is not completed they remain on the assigned day on the Calendar, there's no easy way to right away see tasks that are past due date/time. In other words, they don't carry forward until completed.

The Todo Apps I came across support due dates, reminders and support calendar views where tasks due on a given day are shown. However, they don't support setting specific blocks of time on my Calendar. BusyCal comes close but even that doesn't support blocking specific time on the calendar, e.g., 2:00pm - 3:30pm. It only supports Due Time.

  1. I am wondering what your views are on such a method of Todo Management. Am I trying to use the wrong tools here?
  2. Are there Apps that support this usage?
  3. If you use both Todo App and Calendar together, do you find that better than one App?

Edit 1: I am looking for a software that's supported through iOS and Web App.

Without knowing what OS you target, we hardly can recommend anything. Also, what is your price margin if it comes to paid software? – Izzy Feb 17 '18 at 12:25
  • @user37024: A related question: does any of the solutions you have looked so far support tasks (events from "Tasks" Google calendar)? – dma_k Aug 27 '18 at 15:46
