I'm using access to model a relational database. I have the following data in a 2 column format:

The result should generate a tree/bullet point diagram that looks like this:

  • A
    • B
      • C
    • D
    • G
  • E
    • F

I found something similar in this thread but excel or ms access should have this feature built in somewhere

what's the best software solution to making this tree diagram?

Also, is there a way to abstract a tree diagram into the table data above (using basic .docx or markdown formatting)?

I solved, perhaps, slightly different case with tree representation on Confluence pages with https://bobswift.atlassian.net/wiki/display/GVIZ/Digraph+Macro plugin that can take a table as a source.

Okay i found the solution. it worked out for me

Specify the sheet you want as "INPUT"

and the output sheet as "LEVEL STRUCTURE"

Form is in parent | child, so if your data is backwards just swap columns If its the top most node, put in root as the name for parent.

that way every cell in columns A,B have some value in it

run excel vba
